Finding a great apartment with nice amenities, in a good neighborhood, at a reasonable monthly rent can feel like a distant dream. But upscale living is actually possible at a reasonable price! Our latest report reveals 200 U.S. zip codes where locals can find exactly that desirable combination.

Scottsdale stands out with four zip codes where renters can save on quality apartments. Premium units in zip code 85259 are $580 cheaper than Scottsdale’s average monthly rent for similar units (marking the third-biggest savings nationwide). In fact, in all four of these zip codes, upscale rental apartments are below the city’s overall average rent of $2,158, making Scottsdale the it place for affordable luxury.

Gilbert boasts three zip codes with potential savings on rent for luxury apartments, while Phoenix has five, totaling 12 zip codes in The Valley. Let’s dive into the top six.

In zip code 85259, which encompasses part of Central Scottsdale and the beautiful Scottsdale Mountain area, renters could save a huge $581 a month on a nice, high-end apartment compared to the city average of $2,158. This area is also right next to one of the Mayo Clinic’s three locations. In fact, nine out of 10 apartments in this zip code are high-end and have attractive amenities. This increases the chances of finding a great deal in this sunny enclave.

• Located in the heart of Scottsdale, zip code 85258 is a highly sought-after area that offers a mix of luxury, community, and convenience just a short drive away from Old Town Scottsdale and with easy access to major freeways. The average rent for a high-end apartment here is $1,906/month, which is $252 lower than the city’s average rent for upscale living.

Zip code 85260 stands out as a premier destination for high-end living. Whether you’re seeking a family-friendly community, an active lifestyle, or a serene retreat, North Scottsdale has it all, including proximity to the airport and entertainment venues. Renters could save $234 on rent for a high-end unit here.

• Moving on to Phoenix, its top zip code where renters can save on renting an upscale apartment is 85028. Bordered to the West and the South by the Phoenix Mountains, renting a high-end unit in this area can cost $177 less than Phoenix’s average rent for luxury units ($1,737).

• Phoenix’s second and The Valley’s fifth zip code which offers savings for renters looking for upscale living is 85044, encompassing the Ahwatukee neighborhood — a short drive from the South Mountain Park and Preserve and Phoenix downtown. Here, renters’ savings amount to $138.

• The only other area in The Valley where renters can score a high-end apartment at a lower rate is Gilbert. Its top zip code 85234which encompasses 12 neighborhoods from Vista Alegre and Breckenridge to the West to Towne Meadows and Highland Ranch to the East is also a good place for affordable luxury. Upscale units come at $1,701/month, which is $123 below the city’s average rent for luxury living ($1,824), but also below the average rent for all units in Gilbert ($1,766).
